Good day at Barking Canine Society for myself and Ben at the weekend. CalvaXar Black Swan was 1st in Limit AVNSC, CalvaXar Amniculous was 1st Open AVNSC, Best AVNSC and Working Group 1. Zeus was owned by Tracey Youngs and Jay Horgan and was handled by Traceys Son Matthew to his Group Win.

August 26 –
Best of Opposite in Sweepstakes – No points but there were 12 puppies entered and Boomer was picked as best boy.
Winners Dog – 4 points (5 dogs were entered)
Best of Winners – Since there was 5 points in Bitches – Boomer was awarded a total of 5 points as it was greater than 4.
August 27 –
Winners Dog – 3 points (4 dogs were entered)
Best of Winners – Since there was 5 points in Bitches – Boomer was awarded a total of 5 points as it was greater than 3.
Boomer finished with a total of 16 points which included three 5 point majors!
Cheryl also made her Bitch Leia into a Grand CH so she can now be known as GCH CH Hickson Psyche Charm RATI.
August 24 –
Being awarded a Select and going over 7 bitches. There were 9 entered.
Huge well done!!!
The Point system in America is rather different to ours over here, so to anyone interested in finding out how to make a Ch the Point System is below.
You must earn at least 15 points. They need to include a minimum of 2 majors (3 points or more).
The American Kennel Club has a point schedule for different divisions. Each state is put into a division. Depending on the German Pinschers shown each year, the point schedule can go up or can go down. The minimum German Pinschers need to make one point is 2. This means that you would need two Dogs for a point or two Bitches for a point. One of each does not make any points.
AKC Point Schedule
1 Point – 2 Dogs and 2 Bitches
2 Points – 3 Dogs and 3 Bitches
3 Points – 4 Dogs and 4 Bitches
4 Points – 5 Dogs and 5 Bitches
5 Points – 6 Dogs and 6 Bitches
Except for SCHEDULE OF POINTS FOR DIVISION 3 - EFFECTIVE MAY 17, 2017 Division 3 is comprised of: District of Columbia, Maryland, North Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, West Virginia.
1 Point – 2 Dogs and 2 Bitches
2 Points – 4 Dogs and 4 Bitches
3 Points – 6 Dogs and 5 Bitches
4 Points – 7 Dogs and 6 Bitches
5 Points – 8 Dogs and 7 Bitches
Then the Dog and Bitch go on to compete against each other to be declared Best of Winners.
The Dog awarded the Best of Winners shall be credited with the number of points calculated for Winners Dog or Winners Bitch, whichever is greater.
Rather confusing compared to over here.

23.08.17

Lux Ch Starviper Apple Schnapps was graded 1st VG, CalvaXar Bad Boy Lincoln was graded 1st VG and Starviper Black Magic at Vukasin was graded 1st Exc Junior, Junior Best of Breed, Junior Winner and Best of Breed. Its always tough going under a German Judge with their Breed.

Lux Ch Starviper Apple Schnapps was graded 1st Exc and CAC, CalvaXar Bad Boy Lincoln was graded 1st Exc CAC, CACIB and BOS, Starviper Black Magic was graded 1st Exc, Junior Winner and Junior Best of Breed. Over in the USA
Cheryl Fuss and Lyn Stuby’s Male CalvaXar Canonball to Nevar had 4 shows this weekend with 20 Pinschers entered.
On the 1st Day he won Reserve Winners, 2nd Day Best of Winners with a 5 Point Major (Points needed towards his AKC Ch Title), 4th Day Reserve Winners. Huge well done to Amy Issleib for handling Boomer.
Cheryl and Lyn have Boomer booked in for another 4 shows next weekend, so we’ll see how he does. Hopefully he will be made up to a Ch soon like his Brother Am Ch CalvaXar Chakachatna who is also owned by Lyn Stuby and Frank & Eileen Schenck. Dirk had a great start to his show career gaining his title in just 5 shows and at the age of 8 months old. Also handled by Amy Issleib.
For anyone interested in Judging the German Pinscher please email me for more information on how to get onto our list. Judges from abroad are also welcomed to judge over in the UK.

Sad news that Dog World is no longer in action. But the new website is a great way to keep everyone up to date.

So we have a few shows to get through to keep you all up to date.

First of all Blackpool Show was judged by Caroline Friend –Rees and it was a great day for Sophie Lundy’s Aritaur Nefarious gaining Best Dog and Best of Breed, Karen Wakefield’s Int Ch Hickson Matrix Of Milo At Brintala Reserve Best Dog, Jay Horgan’s Ned It Ch Aritaur Fabulosity Best Bitch, Karen’s Ceriinan Vivica At Brintala Reserve Best Bitch and Sam Kell and Keith Stewarts CalvaXar Cheyenne Best Puppy in Breed.

Up next was National Working & Pastoral Breeds which was judged by Terry Munro. Michelle Clark had a fabulous day with her first home bred bitch Lux Ch Starviper Apple Schnapps gaining Best Bitch and Best of Breed, Donald & Heather Smith’s Inxs Written in the Stars Reserve Best Bitch, Julian Neame’s Multi Ch Aritaur Gene Genie Best Dog, Karen’s Int Ch Hickson Matrix Of Milo At Brintala Reserve Best Dog and Stephanie Wickers Starviper Black Magic At Vukasin Best Puppy in Breed.

Next was Leeds Judged by Keith Baldwin. Where we finally got classes back after losing them 5 years ago. Best Bitch and Best of Breed was Heather & Donald’s Inxs Written in the Stars. Reserve Best Bitch was Jo Ellis’s Goodsouls Rumour has it at Falkor who also won Best Puppy in Breed. Best Dog was Karen’s Int Ch Hickson Matrix Of Milo At Brintala and Reserve Best Dog was Sophie’s Aritaur Nefarious.

Latest show for us was Paignton Judged by Mrs Kinsley. Best Dog and Best of Breed was Sophie’s Aritaur Nefarious, Reserve Best Dog was Karen’s Int Ch Hickson Matrix Of Milo At Brintala, Best Bitch was Donald and Heather’s Inxs Written in the Stars, Reserve Best Bitch was Karen’s Ceriinan Vivica At Brintala and Best Puppy in Breed was Jo’s Goodsouls Rumour has it at Falkor.

We all know that not all dogs will get on with other dogs at shows. So just a little reminder to make sure you keep them under complete control at a show. And if they are not particularly friendly it’s probably best to keep them on the bench and not right by the ring. Doesn’t look good for our breed to have snarling dogs ringside.
That’s it for shows in the UK till Bournemouth next weekend.

Meanwhile abroad………………………
Debbie Gambles Bitch Int, Multi Ch CalvaXar Athena wot a Thriller had a great time in Rotterdam Double Show. 1st day gaining the CAC, CACIB, Best of Breed and coming 2nd in Group 2. Fab news for a German Pinscher as this doesn’t happen very often for our breed. 2nd day she won the CAC, CACIB and Best of Breed but nothing in the group this time.
Debbie also had out her young Bitch Prima Sol Star of Elune who hadn’t been out since a baby but gained 1exc JCAC and Adult RCAC.

Please feel free to send me all results from the UK and Abroad. The website can be viewed by everyone anywhere.

Why thank you Chavette for the information regarding the German Pinscher Club...Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't there another Club too.

  3. Chavette

Geraldine, indeed there are two clubs! The previous links to original (est 1981) club were deleted from this comments section. Sending information via e mail for inclusion has been futile in the past. The writer of these breed notes is also the Acting Chairman of the other club and the Principle Affix Holder of Calvaxar. This breed notes section reads as biased as a former publication no longer in circulation!

  4. Calvaxar

Yes I the Chairman of the club and yes CalvaXar is my Affix. I'm not hiding behind any false names. And knowone has sent me any emails with any results since iv started doing this. As previously Said send me results and they will be included. I don't see why sending me info is such a big deal. And then you post on here that it's all one sided. Seriously what more can i do??? Do you like just being awkward.???

Chavette. The previous comments were removed as you were offensive and argumentative and this site will not allow such blatant online harassment. Your behaviour is just bringing 'your' club into disrepute with your constant haranguing of the writer of these breed notes.

Chavette...we will not tolerate any form of bullying... Your comments were removed along with the link to the other club... All you needed to do to promote your favoured club was to keep a civil tongue in your head. DogFocus are more than happy to share information and links from any bona fide organisation , if you do not wish to contact the designated breed note writer then please do send them to breednotes@dogfocus.co.uk

Your unsubstantiated accusations of bullying, offensive, argumentative, on-line harassment, and awkward behaviour are totally ridiculous not to mention slanderous! Sharing the links of another clubs achievements, breed information and show updates can not be considered as any of the above! I have taken the liberty of keeping the threads to prove this. Your tone and threats are totally inappropriate and I wish you luck with your venture; with the attitudes and views expressed on this comments section you are going to need it!

Chavette, thank you again for your continuing visits, as I have stated before.... We are very happy to share any information through the breednotes.

Thanks Chavette for brightening my rather dull morning. 😉 Now you have got that off your chest can we please get back to using this comments thread for what it’s intended for and that is to discuss and promote our wonderful breed. As stated many times before, the writer of these notes is happy to publish any breed related news and results, but they need to be emailed to her directly. The details of which I think are stated above. If not feel free to email them to me and I can forward them as I am always happy to help. My email address is tracey_youngs@hotmail.com TIA Tracey.

Ladies Kennel Club at the NEC Birmingham, Saturday 10th December results appear to have been completely omitted (even though I understand you were there Clavaxar) Full unbiased results available via accessible to all https://www.dog.biz/cgi-bin/generateShowResults.cgi?showId=974&breed=AV%20WORKING%20NOT%20SEPARATELY%20CLASSIFIED&action=show_breed&showId=974

  11. The Rat pack

Don't worry Chavette, You shouldn't expect anything else and actually I haven't bothered to even look at these notes and DogFocus itself since the first months set of notes. It's just not worth it.

  12. Calvaxar

Yes I was there but I left early and didn't see the final results. More than welcome to send me some information. But instead you would rather act like a spoilt child spitting their dummy out. It's all getting very boring now. I don't understand what you get out of this constant hassling.

https://www.thekennelclub.org.uk/press-releases/2014/september/kennel-club-issues-advice-on-social-media-use/ "Ultimately if you feel you have to join in, be informed and be polite; if you have to read the content, do not assume what is said is true; and if you are the subject of gossip or rumour then treat it for what it is. And remember that the most effective and practical way to deal with offending material is not to join in or respond. A few general guidelines that all social media users should follow are included below: You are responsible for what you post since it is a public medium. Maintain privacy: Do not post confidential information. Do not discuss a situation involving named or pictured individuals without their permission. Does it pass the publicity test: If the content of your message would not be acceptable for face to face conversation, over the phone or in any other medium, then it is not acceptable for a social networking site. Think before you post: If you feel angry or passionate about a subject, it is wise to delay posting until you are calm and clear headed.
