TIBETAN TERRIER Breed notes
For some reason, everything seems to have gone quiet lately!! Oh, yes it is Christmas!!
Lincoln Open Show was held at Newmarket last weekend and Jane Heritage (Luktu) was the Judge. She awarded Karen Willoughby’s bitch Baltoro Puss In Boots BOB who went to on Utility Group 4. Best Puppy was Tony and Veronica Green’s Verony The Usual Suspect who also won the Puppy Group. I have no details of the Group judge or how the puppy got on in BPIS unfortunately.
At Penrith Open Show, Michelle Coupland and Julia Buckley’s Pippalata Go Getter was awarded BOB and BP by John Caswell. Later she went Group 2 and Puppy Group 1 under Gillian Marley. This was her last show in Puppy so a good end to being one, well done.
Claire and Mark Stuchbury went to Brussels last weekend as did Amanda Betts. Claire and Mark’s Incalux Perchance To Dream About Kutala JW won his class on Saturday at the Brussels Trophy show and won BOS, CAC, and CACIB and the first part of his Benelux Winner Qualification under Daniela Risdan from Slovenia. Amanda’s Q' Karma For Tibettsi From Heaven's Earth was awarded Best Puppy. On Sunday at Brussels Dog show, Claire’s boy again won his class and this time the ResCAC and Res CACIB. The judge was Louis Dehaes from Belgium.
Something different from the USA this time, where Kathleen Rupprecht from New Jersey has just had it confirmed that her bitch Minnie, otherwise known as Luktu Power Paws to Agilhas, is the Top Agility Tibetan Terrier for 2017. Minnie is of course bred by our own Jane Heritage.
News that Manchester entries now close at 12 noon on January 2nd on DogBiz.
Merry Christmas to all who read this. I know some of us are at Open Shows next week, we can’t have a rest can we??

We hope Judith will soon be fully recovered quickly. Carol awarded the Dog CC and BOB to Glenn Davies’ Waterley Boogie Woogie with the Res CC going to Philippa Gilbert’s Ch Mikudi Twelfth Night To Gandaki. The Bitch CC was awarded to Pat Tempest’s Shadeacre Fly The Flag For Alilah. The Bitch Res CC went to Val and Aimee Vernall’s Renvall’s Lupin For Love. At Romsey Open Show Karen and Gary Plummer’s Tetsikama Stargazer was BOB. Gandaki Bust A Move owned by Karen and Hannah Bingham and Karen Plummer was BP and PG4
The Tibetan Terrier Association was first registered with the Kennel Club in 1967 and this was celebrated at their Championship show held at the Sports Connexion on Saturday Nov. 4th. The hall and ring etc were decorated to reflect this occasion. Catalogues were produced in a gold cover, and the superb rosettes reflected the Golden Jubilee as well. Every exhibitor received a celebratory ring number clip, and there was plentiful cake and Bucks Fizz for all. Judge for the day was the well known Allrounder Liz Cartledge who had drawn an entry of 198 dogs. Dog CC and Best in Show was awarded to Neil Smith and Judi Hadlington’s Ch Tetsimi Moves Like Jagger with the Res CC going to Glenn Davies’ Barnstorm Waterley United By Dzine who went Res BIS as well.
Bitch CC and Best Opposite Sex in Show was won by Glenn Davies’ Waterley Divine Experience, her third so another new Champion (subject to KC confirmation) for Glenn. Res CC was also won by Glenn with Ch Alilah’s Very Impressed at Waterley from the Veteran Bitch class. Best Puppy in Show was Karen King’s Karamyst Star Maker.
Meanwhile in Holland, Anita and Malcolm Fenton’s Layoli Hot’N Dazzling JW Lux Jnr Ch won the CAC, CACIB and BOB at Bleiswick show.
BUBA Ch Show has an entry of 101 TTs for David Roberts to judge.
No Championship show last weekend for a change, but some of us were on duty on the TT stand at Discover Dogs at the Excel Centre in London Docklands. On Saturday, the stand was “manned” by Barbara Stringer with Dino and Gibbs, and Wendy Gardner with Matilda and apparently they were very busy answering questions and showing off their dogs. On Sunday Dee Ford and Dave were with myself and Panda, Rikki, Calli and Anji. We were busy all day and both of us and the dogs were tired out by the end. I wish I had a pound for every time I was asked “How do they see?” many enquiries were from people who had done their homework on the breed well and knew about the health tests etc, this bodes well for the future.
I have three reports from Open shows from last weekend. At the Isle of Wight Open show Kaen and Gary Plummer’s Tetsikarma Stargazer won BOB, Utility Group 1 and Reserve Best in Show under Judge Trudy Short.
Sue Dykes also won the Utility Group at Kirkintilloch, Lenzie & DCS with her Kashi Devilicious under judge Chris McClean.
And finally Karen King’s Karamyst Star Maker went Best Puppy in Show at Scottish Utility Breeds show.
This coming weekend we have Midland Counties Ch Show with Carol Sayer judging having taken over from Judith Robin-Smith who had to withdraw after needing hospital treatment, hopefully Judith is now well on the way to full recovery.

Tibetan Terrier Breed notes 18/10/2017
Angela Draper-Andrews was the judge for us at South Wales KA Ch show last week. Her Best of Breed was Tilashu Dirty Dancing at Araki (Imp DEU) owned by Ann Sinclair and Adrian Barron, this was his 2nd CC. The ResCC was the first won by Gary and Karen Plummer with their Tetsikarma Stargazer. The bitch CC went to Pam Rutley’s Javey’s Here Comes Summer giving her her Championship. Well done Pam and Molly. ResCC went to Andy Bridges, Sharon Rose and Chantelle Rose Dawson’s Araki Scandalous Suzy again their first in the breed. Best Puppy was Sinclair and Barron’s Araki Rhapsody N’Rhythm. Karen King’s Karamyst Starmaker won the Gundog/Utility Minor Puppy Stakes class under Jeff Luscott. Trudy Short’s Araki Turn Back Time at Parkmist was 2nd in the Yearling Stakes under Paul Wilkinson.
At the TTBOC Open Show last Sunday with an entry of 65 dogs + 8 NFC, the judges were Mandy Hearne (Dogs) and Nicola Horne (Bitches). Best Dog and RBIS went to Clare Stuchbury’s Incalux Perchance To Dream About Kutala JW ShCM, with reserve going to Anglea Draper-Andrews and Emily Hadlow’s Lasang Vanilla Black. Best Puppy Dog was Vita and Mike Davies’ Pinrow Dark Treasure. Best Bitch and eventually Best in Show was Barbara stringer’s Incalux Lady of the Nyte from the Veteran Bitch class. Reserve was Aimee and Val Vernall’s Renvall’s Lupin for Love, Best Puppy was Vita and Mike Davies’ Pinrow Precious Gem who was Best Puppy in Show. I believe Gary Plummer has done a photographic record of the show for DogFocus.
And a World first for a Tibetan Terrier. Sarah Ellis’ Lola has just passed her Trick Champion Title which means she is the FIRST Tibetan Terrier to ever hold this title "Trick Dog Champion" She had to learn and perform her way through 5 different levels of tricks to get to this and both Sarah and Lola have both enjoyed every moment. Clever girl x
At Hitchin Open show Pauline Buckles won Best of Breed with Karshok Mister Kandie Man JW under Geoffrey Curr
Tibetan Terrier Breed Notes 06/10/2017
Driffield Championship show was held last weekend and from the various reports on Social Media I think those of us who were going went in trepidation of getting stuck in the mud! Thankfully the Show Committee had changed the car parking plans so we were all in the carpark reserved for the Sunday car boot sale which had been cancelled at short notice. A long drag for some down a hill into the racecourse was OK until we had to cross the grass to the benching tent thankfully the one nearest the entrance. Those with narrow wheeled trolleys had a job to push them through the mud. Inside the tent, was not too bad apart from the ends of the gangways between benches nearest the tent sides. I have never seen so many Wellies being worn at a show in the past! Our ring was fairly firm inside the tent but the portion outside was very muddy where dogs had been moved the previous three days and the bit in the middle very wet. Jayne Darby making her debut as a Championship show judge was happy to just move the dogs in good sized inside part of the ring after trying the whole ring for the first three classes. Jayne awarded Glenn Davies’ Barnstorm Waterley United by Dzine his second CC from Yearling Dog. Glenn’s Waterley Boogie Woogie won the Resrve CC. In bitches Caroline and Rosemary Johnson’s Incalux Faith won her 3rd CC and thus her Championship. Well done. The Reserve CC went to Jackie Honey’s Kyhibrang Queen of the Straits. Best Puppy was won by Michelle Coupland and Julia Buckley’s Pippalata Go Getter. Getting back to the carpark proved difficult for some exhibitors who had to get help from the show staff. We won’t mention the young lady who carried her dog in to the show, and had to put it down for a rest only to get her trousers and sweater covered in mud when she picked it up again.
News from Karen Plummer that her Tetsikarma Stargazer was reserve Best in Show at Oxfordshire Limited Show under Elaine Whitehill.
Last weekend saw the Belfast Championship show held at Lisburn. And what a day for sisters Lynne and Karen! Lynne Bateman won the Dog CC with her homebred Baltoro Knowing You, his first after several Res CCs. Reserve Dog CC went to Theresa Fury’s Kashi Do Wah Diddy. Lynne’s sister Karen Willoughby’s Kybo Glitter and Twisted won her 3rd CC and Championship, congratulations! Reserve CC was Karen’s Baltoro Puss in Boots. Best Puppy was Suzy Roffey’s Araki Robbie Robster who also was Puppy Group 2 under Stuart Milner. The Breed judge was Peter Jolley who had an entry of 18 but only 6 dogs and 6 bitches were at the show. The only 2 years we have had a good entry at Belfast in the last 5 has been with a Breed Specialist as Judge. I cannot see why the committee keep giving us an Allrounder who is doing multiple breeds most years when usually a low entry is the result. The extra entries pulled by a Specialist more than covers the extra expense of another judge!!
I haven’t seen any results from Open shows last weekend apart from Bedford and Gt Yarmouth and Gorleston.
At Bedford on Saturday Vanessa Cox awarded Best of Breed to Jacky Honey’s Khyibrang Queen of the Straits who later went Group 1 under Sheila Jakeman. Best Puppy was Laila Tarabad and John Whitman’s Khatibi Cracker Dawn. RBOB was my Lynces Made In Heaven
At Gt Yarmouth and Gorleston Steven Bardwell awarded BOB to My Lynces Whatever You Want who went Group 2 under Lesley Cooper. BP was my Lynces Lady Star Dust.
I did miss reporting the passing of Val Taylor who was a stalwart of the Breed and the TTA where she served on Committee and as Treasurer for many years. Val was not to well the last few years and found it difficult to get to shows and she will be greatly missed. Best wishes go to her family at this sad time for them.
Please keep me informed of any wins or other info that will be of interest to others, I can’t get to all shows!! Email me of PM me on Facebook.
Entries for the TTBOC on October 15th close on Fosse this Sunday, October 1st, and for the TTA Ch Show on Nov. 4th on 15th Oct , also on Fosse. Midland Counties also close this Sunday after at least 2 date extensions!!
Darlington Championship Show was held last week with David Wallis (Manorfields) in the centre of the ring.
The Dog CC and Best of Breed was won by Tony and Veronica Green’s Veronys Vini Vidi Vici JW, this was his 2nd CC having won his first at SKC in August. The Reserve CC went to Glenn Davies’ new Champion Waterley Boogie Woogie JW. The Bitch CC was won by Glenn’s Waterley Divine Experience JW again her 2nd after winning at Richmond. The Reserve CC went to my Lynces Made In Heaven. Best Puppy was Vita and Mike Davies’ Pinrow Dark Treasure. Best Veteran was Jackie Tonge’s Kybo In Cahoots with Aonachmor ShCM.
Danielle Wilson was placed reserve in the YKC 6 to 11 year old Stakes, well done.
At Sheringham Open Show Deirdre Rudderham’s Araki Dreamer of Dreams was Best of Breed under Liz Millward.
At Carlow Championship Show, Judi and Mike Tempest’s Ch Mikudi MustanG Sally won the GS/CAC #10 and Res BOB under Ms J Brown.

At Westbury Open Show, Heather Stickley’s Walkamile Here Comes the Sun was BOB and G1 under M Sparks. Jackie Lawrence’s Tazique Totally Fabulush won BPIB and PG3.
Good to hear that Thame and Oxfordshire Open Show has been revived with an enthusiastic committee and in its second year achieved a very good entry. Welcome to DogFocus and these Tibetan Terrier Breed notes. With the demise of Dog World, DogFocus has been set up by a number of the DW contributors as an online newspaper and I am sure we all wish them success in this project.
Well, it looks as though Neil Smith and Judi Hadlington are certainly on a top winning roll with their Champion Tetsimi Moves Like Jagger! He has won the Dog CC and Best of Breed at Paignton, Bournemouth and now WKC, with Group 2 at both Bournemouth and WKC. Other main winners at these shows were, Paignton (Judge Patsy Hollings)- Bitch CC Sinclair and Barron’s Araki Secret Sensation, Dog RCC Sinclair and Barron’s Tilashu Dirty Dancing at Araki, Bitch RCC Tempest, Carr and Davies’ Waterley Salishan Sunshine at Alilah, BP Roffey’s Araki Robbie Robster.
At Bournemouth (Judge Roger Bayliss) - BCC was Tempest, Carr and Davies’ Waterley Salishan Sunshine at Alilah, her 3rd CC and therefore a new Champion, Dog RCC Davies Barnstorm Waterley United by Dzine, Bitch RCC Erskine-Jones’ Unohoo Here Comes Flora. Best Puppy was Jacky Honey’s Kyhibrang Queen of the Straits who also won The Utility Puppy Group.
At WKC BCC was Sinclair and Barron’s Araki Secret Sensation also her 3rd CC and therefore another new Champion, Dog RCC was Short’s Araki Turn back Time at Parkmist, Bitch RCC Price and Leese’s Araki Already Whisperin. Best Puppy was Karen King’s Karamyst Starmaker at his first show and went on to win the Utility Puppy Group. Congratulations to all above.
With all these Ch shows on recently news from the Open shows is rather thin. At Suffolk KA Veronica and Tony Green’s Ergonox Abella A Gift From Lost Valley To Verony won BOB under Margaret Bull, and then the Utility Group under Angela Matthews, then RBIS qualifying her for the East Anglian Supermatch. Julie Hindle’s new puppy bitch was BP and PG3.

At Gillingham & Shaftesbury Jackie Lawrence’s Tazique Totally Fabulush won BPIB, PG1 and RBPIS winning the Puppy Stakes en route!

The TTA Open show at Bretford was judged by Clare Clayton. BIS was Glenn Davies’ Barnstorm Waterley United by Dzine, RBIS was Vanessa Meegan’s Ch Kyipo Dramarama at Aveness. Best Puppy was Pat Tempest’s Alilah Hi De Hi. We were in and out of the marquee during the day due to rain and a big thunderstorm. I understand the Fun Day jointly organised by the TTA and TTBOC was another great success with good weather. I was unable to attend due to another commitment but looking at pictures posted on Facebook, it appeared to be very well attended and I am sure enjoyed by all.
Entries for Driffield have been extended until noon on 29 August on Higham with Jane Darby making her Ch debut in the middle of the ring. South Wales KA Ch show on Oct 7th judge Angela Draper-Andrews closes on Sept 4th. The TTA Ch Show is on November 4th judge Liz Cartledge and closes on Fossedata on October 15th.
