This weeks QOTW is. What’s the thing you love the most about your dog?
A quick reminder and first mention that the English Toy Terrier (Black & Tan) Club have made a Survey Monkey to allow members to have their say on topical issues and topical thoughts like the club website etc. I believe that this is an extremely efficient and effective way to be able to put your thoughts across because it means that the Club committee members are able to read your thoughts and queries and they can make sure the club is run with everyone’s best interest kept in mind. I’ve completed mine so make sure you complete yours.
In Show News Last week was very busy with a vast array of summer outdoor opens shows taking place with a huge amount of success. An extremely successful weekend for Carolyn. At Chesterfield and Pinxton Open show Miss L Allsop’s homebred Pelugias Eternal Flame won Best A.V.N.S.C Puppy and Puppy Group 1 under judge Mrs Karen Maskell. This weeks QOTW starts of with my favourite answers from last week. Last weeks Question was “ Which is your favourite Championship show and Why?” User grahamrwbc replied, “My favourite Championship Show is The English Toy Terrier (Black & Tan) Club Championship Show. It’s the only ETT single breed Championship show and is therefore unique. This show always brings out the best in the ETT people because they all pull together to make this a happy friendly event. There is always lots of lively banter. User shandale12 (I wonder who this could be.) typed, “I must say that our favourite Champ Show is Welsh Kennel Club as it holds a very special memory of our foundation bitch Ch. Thalcyon Victoria at Shanedale was made up at that show. She was our first ETT and it was a very special day for us. We had lots of laughs when we used to caravan there, especially having a Christmas Party in August, as it was the last show that we did during the year where we took the caravan. I loved both answers. This weeks QOTW is what’s the one thing you’d changed at about the English Show scene? Make sure to leave your response in the comments.
Welcome to ETT breednotes, thanks to DogFocus for allowing me the opportunity to share news and views from the ETT community.
Over the next few weeks, the official English Toy Terrier (Black and Tan) Club website will be undergoing construction for an entire rebuild, redesign and revamp in order to make some big changes and improvements, as well as introduce some exciting new features and content. In the meantime, members, like myself, can check out what’s happening on the Club Facebook Group via the Club website by scrolling down the home page.
This new facility will enable those who do not have access to Facebook or the Facebook Group to keep up to date with what is happening on social media.
I believe this is a really good idea because it gives people who are new to the breed and don’t yet have access to the group an opportunity to really see what is going on inside the group and see what they are missing out on. The breed notes here on DogFocus will , I hope keep you fully up to date with all the news too.
The Club will shortly be undertaking a comprehensive member’s survey, this will allow members to have their say on what they want on the website and in Thumbprints. This initiative is indicative of the enthusiasm and forward thinking of the current committee who wish to thank members in advance for their patience and support, we promise it’ll be worth the wait.
In Show News Paignton & District Fancier Association was judged on Tuesday 8th August by Breed Specialist Sharon Adams (Tillarn). This wasn’t her first appointment however this time it was a lot closer to home. No CCs however there was still a very good entry compared to other shows recently with 16 Dogs making up 17 entries. Best Dog and Best of Breed went to CH Moretonia Kindle Fire who was made into a champion earlier this year.
Reserve Best Dog went to Mr P J & Mrs D Saunders’ Appletor Another Path who won both Puppy Dog & Junior Dog respectively.
Best Bitch went to Mrs D Dicker’s Neerodan Naughty Nancy who has recently been knocking on the door for her 3rd CC.
Reserve Best Bitch and Best Puppy in Breed went to Mrs & Miss C & H Turner & Mrs E Merrifield’s Amalek Willow to Kinize who was awarded her first BPIB at Championship Show Level (I believe).
Congrats to all .
A new feature I would like to add is a QOTW (Question of the Week) in which I ask question and you, the reader, replies with you response to me here, there is a space below the breednotes for comments.
My favourite responses will then be added into next week’s instalment. As this is the first week of QOTW, there will be no response so it will just be the question and that’s it. This weeks question is: Which is your favourite Championship Show and Why?
That’s it for the first instalment, please don’t forget to send me your wins from shows so the can be mentioned in next weeks instalment and if you having any ideas of improvement then please email me your suggestions and they will be taken on board. email@example.com
