So with hunting season started our time at Fhwuk, is at a all time busy ,
I still need help with foster homes, if any of our readers are interested in helping out,
we have been contacted by other rescues who have hounds in that they either don't want to return or hounds not been claimed by the hunt, also some hounds that have no form of id so owners cant be traced,
I am still full here, I have managed to send one little hound up to own of our owners in Scotland, Ruffle is a year old and never been involved around humans, she is very scared and we are working with her foster family who know it will be a long process, the last feral hound we had in was a cruelty case and took me 6mths to touch, so the fact that ruffle is on her terms asking for a quiet fuss is a step in the right direction,
our show is this weekend and our hound judge and back up have not been able to keep appointment so I'm starting to get worried about event,
thank you to all how have sponsored the classes, and donations, for show's tombola and raffle,
thank you to Janet Gambier who once again, has donated a raffle price (worth £80 to £100 ) artwork of winner,
we are just hoping that people come and support our event over the two days 14th and 15th Oct. we have stalls raffle and tombola at show as well as lots of classes, rosettes 1st to 4th and good bags at Capable Canines training venue - Connors Place, Croxall Road, Alrewas, Staffordshire, DE13 7BD
some camping available £10 per a night,
classes £2 each or enter 3 classes for a £5, this is a chance for all you wonderful hound owners to come and meet us, and each other,
Saturday will be our members breed club AGM for members who have already paid,
The last championship show with foxhound classes, was Darlington, in September,
Sadly I was the only one entered, with my two MFHA boys, but due to my ever worsening nerve damage I only took Kipling who moved well, if he was little un sure being only hound there and waiting a while for the other breed judging to be over in the other breeds,
we are looking forward to our entry at crufts 2018
We wish Laura and Medgy best of luck this weekend with their Lowland search and rescue training this coming weekend
National Welfare Coordinator for Foxhound welfare UK
I begin with massive thanks to Capable Canines for allowing us to have a breed stall, at their agility show.
Thanks to Jill, Chris, and Gareth, for their help on the show, we raised £154,
We are happy with that, as the weather was on the Saturday horrible. The day was a mixed bag of weather -thunder storm, rain, wind and even the sun came out in the afternoon,
The Saturday last week, was also the Hound ASS. With foxhound classes, due to the weather I decided not to go with my two boys,

On the rescue front Rupert, the year old hound boy has been adopted out, to a cannicross home where he will be trained up in the world of the sport and compete,
We are after hound experienced foster homes, if anyone is interested in more details please email- firstname.lastname@example.org
We have a hound boy waiting to come in once he has done his 7 days' time in the pound, his story is so like many other rescue dogs, he is chipped but his details aren't up to date, then sold on because one reason or another, he's full of fresh scars and very hand shy,
Thanks to Geraldine C-P for asking me to write the Foxhound breednotes,
I hope this page will cover all aspects of Foxhounds, ownership, showing results, rescue and even what some of our owners do with their wonderful hounds,
July was host to Peterborough's Festival of Hunting (the new name), of what was called the Peterborough Royal Foxhound show, it's Crufts in the working scent hound world, for the Foxhound, Bloodhound, Beagle, Harrier and Drag hound enthusiasts it's the show everyone wants to be attending.
The show was well attended, the show ground staff were helpful and ground well maintained, as we walked around there were more packs attending this year than last, weather was cooler than last year too which made it more suitable for the hounds and humans alike.
We watched the Old English dog classes in the morning and then the Bloodhound and Drag classes, which were on after the working terriers,
The way the Hunt hounds are shown differently to how many see the Kennel Club dogs shown, Hounds are shown off lead with movement on and off the flags where feet, legs, neck, back and stern are all judged. the old English for me always stand out, on and off the flags, but the event is a must for any hound enthusiast, dare for next year is the 18th july .
Well done to the championship winning kennels,
North Cotswold winning modern dog and bitch, res dog to Duke of Beaufort, res bitch was Grove and Rufford ,
And the old English champion dog as Sir Watkins Willams Wynns , bitch championship was with the Hurworth.
The rescue world in Foxhounds is a busy one of late, we have no foster homes for the 9 hounds we have looking for forever homes, so they are currently with me. If you can help with foster of fundraising I am always happy to hear from you.
I’m happy to report we have rehomed the 10th hound in July, I am over the moon to welcome more families to our hound family, so far all hounds are settling well,
August see us at two fundraising events we always need help at these events,
5th and 6th sees Paws galore at Croxall Road, Alrewas DE13 7BD
And the 13th Blue cross, 11AM –4PM At Thirsk Auction Mart just off A19
5th august also sees the Hound Association, Stafford with breed classes, with an entry of 5 they are first in the ring so will be an early start - I may need to miss this show if we can't get someone to man the stall on the same day at Alrewas.
One of our Foxhound owners have put us forward for Checkendon challenge September event auction, the event is a Bikejorin and cannicross *Cani-x* event in the south east any auction items welcome please email us at Foxhoundwelfareuk@gmail.com and we will let you were to send them.
