The weekend of the 5th/ 6th August is a busy one for the dogs on the show circuit, with Paignton Championship Show on Saturday and then National Gundog Championship Show at Malvern on Sunday.

Judged by Mrs P Williams, the dog CC and Best of Breed at Paignton was awarded to Ch Raycris Quite the Charmer owned by L.O’Connell and C.Ogle.
The RCC went to Groom’s Brockchime Comet of Grunjagen.
Ellis’ Sh Ch Raycris Calista won the BCC and C.Trowsdale’s Quilesta So Special At Cazooska won the RCC.
Best Puppy went to Mr and Mrs Prowse’s bitch, Quilesta Just Endearing.

Frank Whyte was judging the next day at National Gundog, and awarded BCC and Best of Breed to Mr R Butler and Mrs C Ogle’s Ch Raycris Freya. This was Freya’s 50th CC, making it a momentous occasion for Raycris and the breed. The bitch RCC was awarded to Mr C and Mrs A Hewitt’s Brockchime Froliscome.
The dog CC was awarded to Groom’s Brockchime Comet of Grunjagen, a good weekend for them.
The dog RCC was awarded to Sh Ch Albadhu Paws for Perfection. Best Puppy was awarded to Mr G Stewart’s bitch Quilesta Just Perfect.

On 21st July, the Scottish contingent had a great day at Leeds Championship Show winning both sets of CC’s. E Logie and M Gray’s, Albadhu Paws for Perfection, at 7 years old, is now made up to Show Champion after winning the DCC, Best Veteran and BOB, and 2 year old bitch Cindy Vom Hundsfeld At Albadhu (Imp) owned by Erin Logie and Fiona Braidwood won her first CC.
Lloyd and Smith’s Crumpsbrook Bayleaf von Rulander won the RCC from the Limit dog class and Robert Hargreaves with his puppy bitch Ghyllbeck Ramruma won Best Puppy and the RCC at her first show. The Judge was Mrs Doreen Smilie-Gray.
On 23rd July, team LM were at the GSPA working Test at Little Dalby. Karen Saynor’s Ekkolander Indian Summer won the Puppy Class and then the Open Class. Helen Evans was awarded 4th in Novice with Tarkanya Hippi’s Hibiscus. Other Munsterlander’s competing were Ch Paddockridge Rulander, Crumpbsrook Bayleaf von Rulander, Destanli Jedda’s Diamond and Jaudas Sweet Karoline of Moorgun.
The Large Munsterlander Club are holding a Natural Aptitude Test in Scotland, on 26th August, at Mid Breich Farm, Westwood, West Calder, EH55 8PL. It is £10 per dog and promises to be a fantastic day where guidance, training, advice and great hospitality will be provided.
