I thoroughly enjoyed judging your lovely breed for the first time at this level. Thank you to everyone for your support. My apologies for the brevity of the report. I was conscious that with a 10:30 start I had 145 dogs to judge and at 2.5 minutes per dog that would have taken until 4:30 pm and I didn’t want anyone to miss the group.

I would like to express my thanks to the committee for my appointment and superb hospitality. Thank you to my steward Graham and also a huge thank you to my 21 entries. There were 7 absentees and I hope this was the result of too much Christmas pudding and nothing more serious.
I thoroughly enjoyed going over my dogs who were all well-handled, even my first timer at a show, and all had super temperaments. I was amused that most of them knew the ‘command’ teeth and all obliged!
In France, where I live, we don’t just award ranking, which is normally 1st to 4th place, every dog exhibited is marked either; Adequate, Good, Very Good or Excellent. I would have awarded all my exhibitors on the day an Excellent. So, for those dogs who were unplaced I still thought very highly of them.
In a strong Puppy Group, judged by Dolores Precious, I was delighted with my best puppy, Tolkain Storm King From Phandate being placed Group 3 and in the Adult Group, Dalfin Actual Fact taking 4th place in a very large and strong Utility group. In fact the winner of the Utility group took BIS

Junior (9,3)
1st Finlay’s Dalfin Actual Fact, 15th month old black spotted dog. Lovely masculine head with dark brown eyes and well-set ears. Lovely arched neck leading to well-defined withers and a strong back. Great pigmentation and distinctive spotting even on the tail, which sometimes was held a little high and curled, I hope this doesn’t distract from his very promising career. Strong, elegant mover. BOB, BIG4
2nd Sims Mullabuoy Magic Man for Snowspeeder 13th month old black spotted dog. Slightly less mature than my first place, however another lovely breed type who was very well presented. Lovely head with very dark brown eyes. Great chest lovely topline and correct tailset. Super angulation and length of hock. Balanced mover.
3rd Williams Tolkain Storm King From Phandate Best Puppy, BPG3

Post graduate (7,2)
1st Patrick’s Cohavrick Symphony, black spotted bitch. Very feminine head, dark eyes and lovely expression. Elegant neck leading to defined wither and lovely topline and tail set. Good width to chest. Good bone. Good angulation and well let down hocks. Loved her smooth and flowing movement. RBOB
2nd Sims Mullabuoy Magic Man for Snowspeeder
3rd Wheaton’s Buffrey The Last Word At Acinonyx

Open (5,2)
1st Patrick’s Spiral Desdemona ShCM, black spotted bitch. Very feminine head, lovely neck and topline. Plenty of bone. Correct tailset and length. Probably had the best feet of all dogs today. Nice free mover. Dam to RBOB
2nd Gibbs Phadante Mr Blue Sky JW, black spotted male. Strong handsome dog, masculine head with dark eyes, lovely expression. Nicely shaped neck and well-defined withers and excellent top-line and tail-set. Deep-chest and good bone, tight feet. On another day an easy winner but he seemed a little lethargic. Excellent type.
